Anna/George,
I hope this finds you well. I wanted to take a minute
to let you both know how much we appreciate the hospitality and effort you put
into our trip at the end of last month. We went down with high
expectations, based on all of our previous Downeast Guide Service experiences,
and this trip blew those out of the water.
Two days fishing (Friday and Sunday), on a beautiful boat,
with top notch crew, double digit sailfish, out of this world customer service
by James, Berto, and Roberto, pond like ocean conditions, and outstanding
weather…I could not script a better two days on the water. We saw more
sailfish swimming, free jumping and chasing bait in the first 30 minutes, than
I have seen back home in all my collective years fishing. To top it all
off, James pointed the boat south on our second day. He ran twice as far
as the rest of the boats fishing that day, to put us on a bite his friends to
the south had told him about the day before. James could have fallen in
line with the rest of the charter boats, and I am sure he would have found the
fish, but he chose to run further, fish longer, and do everything he could to
put us on the best fishing he could. When I looked up the only boats
running with us that morning were the private guys, I knew James was doing
everything he could to give us the best experience possible. We had an
incredibly memorable experience both days, but to stand in the corner of the
transom of the boat, with your best friend on the opposite side, hooked up on a
double, and watch two sails dance in unison 150 ft behind the boat, will be a
hard memory to top. Dragon Fly boat and crew are the best I have ever
fished with.
The accommodations were fantastic as well. Condo was
excellent and breakfast was always wonderful. The pools, the beach club,
the restaurants, the golf cart gave us plenty of freedom to explore, all the
way down to the airport transportation…it all was as good as you could ask
for. Once again the one stop shopping experience provided by you two
cannot be beat. I don’t think I have ever booked a vacation that was this
easy, and no where near as enjoyable.
George-I know you have heard the term “out kicked your
coverage”…you have done it in a big way. Anna- I know we would have
enjoyed our trip regardless of your hospitality, but I must say, this is the
thing Keri and I talked about more than anything on our way home. Your
kindness, generosity and time is what made this the best trip we have
taken. We cannot even begin to express how much we enjoyed this
experience, and how grateful we are that you took your time to show us all you
did. Keri is now a professional surfer, and the pictures she took at
sunset from that hotel are going up on the wall in our home. We realize
you did that out of pure kindness, and we are extremely appreciative.
We will be back, and it will be soon.
Thank you for all you have done for us in the past, and I am
looking forward to doing a lot more in the future.
